Protects the underbody, sills and wheel arches against stone chips and corrosion, from stripping the old paint to applying anti-gravel stone chip coating.

Suitable substrates
Ideal for
The underbody, sills, wheel arches and lower door areas are the parts of a vehicle most affected by stone chips, road salt, moisture and mud. In these areas, even minor paint damage can quickly turn into rust and loss of metal. The Underbody Protection and Restoration System starts by removing old, worn coatings with Paint Stripper; the cleaned, sound metal is then protected without delay with 1K Fast Repair Primer.
Applied over the primed surface, Anti-Gravel Stone Chip Protector uses its flexible, textured structure to help absorb the impact of stones and gravel and to make it harder for moisture and salt to reach the metal. If desired, the anti-gravel layer can be painted in the vehicle colour, preserving the original look of sills and lower door areas. The system offers an economical and effective way to protect the lower body, both in the preventive maintenance of vehicles in daily use and in classic car restorations.
For mixing ratios, drying and flash-off times, refer to each product's own Technical Data Sheet.
Stripping the Old Paint
Brush the product on in a thick layer, working in one direction; when the paint blisters and wrinkles, scrape it off with a scraper and repeat if necessary. Keep it away from plastic, rubber and fibreglass parts; work in a well-ventilated area, wearing the protective equipment specified in the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
Rust Removal and Cleaning
Remove any remaining rust and old protective coatings down to bright metal with a wire brush or sanding disc. Remove paint stripper residues, grease and dust completely with the thinner; any residue will impair the adhesion of subsequent layers.
Primer
Prime the bare metal immediately after cleaning, before flash rust can form, using thin coats that give full coverage. On rough or large areas that need filling, 4+1 Acrylic Primer Filler can be used instead.

Stone Chip Protection
After masking off the exhaust, brakes, suspension and moving parts, apply the product in 1–2 coats with an underbody coating gun until the desired texture is achieved. You can adjust how coarse the texture is by varying the air pressure and the gun distance.
Topcoat (Optional)
On visible areas such as sills and lower doors, a topcoat in the vehicle colour can be applied once the anti-gravel coating has fully cured. Refer to the product's Technical Data Sheet (TDS) for the waiting time before painting.
The flexible, textured anti-gravel layer helps to reduce the impact of gravel and stones on the paint and the metal.
Together, the sound metal base, the primer and the anti-gravel layers make it harder for moisture, salt and mud to reach the sheet metal.
Completely stripping old and blistered coatings brings hidden rust spots to light and allows a lasting repair to be made.
Built on just a few products, the system is easy to plan for both workshop maintenance and restoration projects, and does not strain the budget.
