ZN-620 Paint Stripper is an extra-strong solvent blend developed to remove old layers of paint, primer and filler from metal surfaces without resorting to mechanical abrasion methods such as sanding or blasting. It is particularly effective for stripping multi-layer old paint, for large surfaces, and for edges, corners and folds where mechanical work is difficult. It makes it easier to take the surface back to bare metal before restoration and repainting.
Its high penetrating power works quickly into the paint layers, separating them from the metal so that they blister and wrinkle. The lifted layers are easily removed with a scraper, greatly reducing labour time compared with sanding. As there is no mechanical abrasion, the metal is not thinned, heated or distorted, and the original structure and profile of the panel are preserved. This is a significant advantage, particularly on classic car parts made of thin sheet metal.
ZN-620 is suitable for metal surfaces only; it must not be used on plastic or composite parts, and on aluminium and galvanised surfaces a test should first be carried out on a small area. After stripping, all residues must be scraped off and the surface thoroughly cleaned with ZN-530 Surface Cleaning Thinner. Once properly abraded, the clean, dry and residue-free metal surface is ready for a new paint system built up with Zenova products such as ZN-110 Universal Polyester Filler and ZN-250 Joker Multi-Purpose Primer.
Values are typical at 20 °C and 65% relative humidity. Please review the product's current Technical Data Sheet (TDS) before application.

The recommended application sequence for a professional result.
Work in a well-ventilated area; wear chemical-resistant gloves, safety goggles and suitable workwear. Remove plastic, rubber and glass parts and seals, or protect them – along with any areas that are not to be stripped – with a solvent-resistant cover.
On multi-layer or hard clear-coated surfaces, you can lightly score the surface with coarse abrasive paper to help the product penetrate faster; there is no need to sand down to the metal.
Apply the product generously in a thick layer with a solvent-resistant brush, working in one direction. Do not brush back and forth.
Wait approx. 10–30 min until the layers blister and wrinkle. Do not let the product dry on the surface; apply another thin coat if necessary.
Scrape off the lifted layers with a scraper, taking care not to scratch the metal; repeat the process on stubborn areas. Use a stiff-bristled brush in folds and corners.
Once all residues have been removed, clean the surface with ZN-530 Surface Cleaning Thinner using the two-cloth method. Abrade the dry surface to suit the system to be applied (P80 in areas to be filled) and move on to filler and primer without delay; bare steel can rust quickly when exposed to moisture.
Zenova products tested in the same system as this product, which give the best results together with it.
