Quality Policy
For us, quality is not a result caught at the final inspection; it is a process managed at every step from raw material to shipment.
The sandability of a filler, the filling power of a primer or the gloss of a clear coat only gives the technician real confidence when it is repeated in exactly the same way in every batch. That is why we build our approach to quality on defined control points and recorded measurements. At every stage from raw material receipt to packaging, we monitor conformity with the criteria we have set, and we aim to detect and correct any deviations before the product reaches the field.
Our understanding of quality is not confined to the laboratory. We evaluate our products with tests that reflect real application conditions, and we record feedback from the field and turn it into improvement work. We regard it as our priority to supply every product with an up-to-date Technical Data Sheet and Safety Data Sheet and, should a problem arise, to ensure traceability via the batch number so that we can find a solution quickly and transparently.
Defined Criteria
We define acceptance criteria and measurement methods for every product in advance, basing our assessments on measurement rather than personal interpretation.
Preventive Approach
Rather than catching problems in the finished product, we focus on spotting and preventing them at the raw material and process stages.
Traceability
We aim to ensure that the history of every product, from raw material to shipment, can be traced via its batch number.
Transparent Information
We take care to keep our Technical Data Sheets and Safety Data Sheets up to date and to provide clear, accurate information on our labels.
Six steps from raw material to shipment
- 01
Incoming raw material inspection
Every batch of raw material from our suppliers is checked against defined acceptance criteria in terms of the certificate of analysis, appearance and critical parameters. Raw materials that do not meet the criteria are not used in production.
- 02
In-process control
During production, parameters such as mixing time, fineness of grind, temperature and viscosity are monitored within the ranges defined in the formula, and the results of in-process checks are recorded.
- 03
Batch testing
Samples taken from every production batch are compared with standard values for key properties such as viscosity, density, solids content, drying and colour/appearance. A batch that has not been approved does not move on to packaging.
- 04
Application testing
Samples are applied to test panels under conditions that reflect the workshop, and properties that directly affect the user, such as sandability, adhesion, film appearance and gloss, are evaluated.
- 05
Packaging and label inspection
Fill quantity, lid sealing, batch number and label information are checked. Care is taken that the hazard pictograms and the hazard and precautionary statements on labels comply with the relevant legislation and the current Safety Data Sheet.
- 06
Shipment and traceability
Every shipment is recorded with its batch number. This means that, in the event of any feedback, the raw material, production and test records can be traced back, and a retained sample set aside from every batch also serves as a reference for investigation.
