Industrial Chemical SolutionsPaint systems for automotive refinishing and industrial surfaces
Reaction components specifically matched to each system.

In two-component (2K) paint systems, final hardness, chemical resistance and gloss depend on the quality of the chemical reaction between the base component and the hardener. The wrong hardener or an incorrect ratio can leave even the best clear coat soft, dull or brittle.
Each Zenova hardener is developed to match a specific product group: ZN-410 is formulated for acrylic primers, ZN-420 for standard 2K acrylic systems, ZN-430 for MS clear coats and paints, and ZN-440 for the premium HS clear coat system.
Hardeners react with moisture in the air. Closing the container tightly after use and never using product that has turned cloudy or gelled are critical to system performance.

The hardeners are aliphatic polyisocyanates that react with the hydroxyl groups in the acrylic resin. Their reactivity, adjusted for each system, determines pot life, drying speed and the final hardness of the film.
Isocyanates can cause respiratory sensitisation. Use an air-fed mask, chemical-resistant gloves and safety glasses. Environment, health and regulatory guide
Standard, MS and HS resins differ in their reactive group content. The matching hardener ensures the correct NCO/OH balance and the expected film properties.
Isocyanate also reacts with moisture in the air. Cloudiness, gelling and bubbles (CO₂) forming in the mix are signs of this.
The reaction starts on mixing and speeds up as the temperature rises. A mix that has reached the end of its pot life cannot be made usable again by adding thinner.
The lid must be closed tightly immediately after each use, and the product stored in its original container in a cool, dry place.
