The Standard Panel Repair System offers a solution that balances cost, speed and quality for the dents, scratches and impact damage that workshops encounter most often. The fill, carried out with Universal Polyester Filler, is covered with 4+1 Acrylic Primer Filler, which conceals sanding scratches and minor surface defects. On small damage, 3-in-1 Filler can be used as an alternative by those who want to combine filling and finishing in a single product.
Recommended for the final coat, 2K Acrylic MS Clear Coat has been developed to provide good flow, balanced drying and a glossy appearance when mixed with 2K MS Hardener. Its medium-solids (MS) formulation makes it easy to apply and adaptable to different workshop conditions. Because many painters are already familiar with this workflow, new team members can also adopt the system quickly. The system sets a reliable standard for insurance repairs, fleet vehicles and everyday workshop jobs.
For mixing ratios, drying and flash-off times, refer to each product's own Technical Data Sheet.
Cleaning and Preparation
Use the thinner to remove grease, silicone and dirt residues from the repair area and its surroundings. Sand the damaged area back to bare metal with P80, feather the paint edges with P120–P150 and clean the surface again.
Filling
Mix the filler with 2–3% by weight of the hardener supplied in the pack and apply it in thin layers, pressing it firmly into place; on small damage, 3-in-1 Filler can also be used. Once dry, shape the filler with P80–P120 and finish it with P180–P240 before priming.
Alternative: ZN-150 3-in-1 Filler
Primer
Mix the primer 4:1 by volume with 2K Acrylic Primer Hardener (ZN-410), reduce it to spraying viscosity with Acrylic Thinner (ZN-510) and apply 2–3 coats, allowing 5–10 min flash-off between coats. Once fully dry, sand with P400–P500 using a guide coat.
Basecoat
Wipe the sanded surface with a tack cloth and apply the colour-matched basecoat in the number of coats recommended by its manufacturer until opacity is achieved. Make sure the basecoat has flashed off to a fully matt finish before moving on to the clear coat.
Clear Coat
Mix the clear coat with 2K MS Hardener (ZN-430), thin it with Acrylic Thinner (ZN-510) and apply 2 coats, allowing 5–10 min flash-off between coats. Bake for approximately 30 min at 60 °C (object temperature) or, when air drying at ambient temperature, allow the time stated in the Technical Data Sheet (TDS).
The combination of 4+1 primer and MS clear coat keeps material costs under control on everyday repairs while aiming for a clean, glossy result.
Familiar mixing ratios and a balanced drying speed allow every painter in the workshop to follow the same workflow with ease.
Depending on the size of the damage, you can work with Universal Polyester Filler or 3-in-1 Filler and adjust the preparation time to suit the job.
