Deep gloss, UV resistance and lasting surface protection.

The clear coat is the vehicle's first point of contact with the outside world. As well as determining gloss, depth and colour tone, it acts as a shield against UV radiation, chemicals and scratches.
The Zenova clear coat series comes in three performance levels: the balanced, fast-drying 2K Acrylic Clear Coat; 2K Acrylic MS Clear Coat, which optimises workshop efficiency and the cost/performance balance; and the premium 2K Acrylic HS Clear Coat, which offers high film thickness in a single coat and glass-like depth. Each clear coat is used with a hardener specifically matched to it.
The right choice of clear coat depends on the nature of the job, the baking capacity, the need for polishing and the expected quality of finish. Our product comparisons and application systems make this decision easier.

The clear coats cure through the cross-linking of an acrylic polyol resin with an aliphatic polyisocyanate hardener. The aliphatic structure does not yellow in sunlight, while the UV absorbers and light stabilisers (HALS) used in automotive clear coats protect the colour of the basecoat underneath.
Use the clear coat only with its matching hardener; because the mixture contains isocyanates, suitable respiratory protection is required. Environment, health and regulatory guide
The higher the solids content, the greater the film thickness achieved per coat and the lower the solvent content. HS clear coat delivers great depth in 1.5 coats.
At 20 °C the reaction is complete within hours; at 60 °C object temperature, assembly-ready hardness is reached in approximately 30 min.
Application viscosity (DIN 4 cup) and the flash-off time between coats determine the risk of orange peel, sagging and solvent popping.
The fully cured polyurethane network protects the surface against fuel, detergents, bird droppings and road chemicals.
