ZN-440 2K HS Hardener is an aliphatic isocyanate-based hardener specially formulated for premium high-solids (HS) clear coat systems. In the Zenova system it is paired with ZN-330 2K Acrylic HS Clear Coat and used at 2 : 1 by volume. Designed to work in harmony with the low solvent content and high resin content of HS clear coats, it helps to retain the depth and fullness of the clear coat after curing.
A film cured with ZN-440 forms a dense cross-linked structure and reaches maximum surface hardness. This hardness increases resistance to the fine scratches caused by washing and everyday use, while keeping the gloss for longer. The aliphatic structure limits the tendency to yellow under UV light, so depth and colour purity are retained for a long time, especially on light-coloured vehicles.
To mix, add 1 part by volume of ZN-440 to 2 parts of ZN-330; if the viscosity needs adjusting, use a maximum of 5% ZN-510 Acrylic Thinner. As ZN-440 is specific to the HS formulation, it must not be used with standard or MS clear coats. For the best results in premium repair systems, it is important to add the hardener at exactly the right ratio using a graduated cup or scales, and to close the container tightly after each use.
Values are typical at 20 °C and 65% relative humidity. Please review the product's current Technical Data Sheet (TDS) before application.

The recommended application sequence for a professional result.
Stir the ZN-330 thoroughly in its tin; before opening the hardener tin, clean around the lid to prevent dust and moisture from getting in.
Using a graduated mixing cup or scales, add 1 part by volume of ZN-440 to 2 parts of ZN-330.
If the viscosity needs adjusting, add a maximum of 5% ZN-510 Acrylic Thinner; stir until the mixture is uniform and strain it into the spray gun.
Use the mixture within approximately 1.5–2 h at 20 °C; the pot life is shorter in hot conditions. Do not store leftover mixture in a closed container.
Immediately after use, wipe the rim of the tin and close the lid tightly. Make sure an opened container is used up within a short time.
Zenova products tested in the same system as this product, which give the best results together with it.

Balanced-evaporation thinner that brings 2K acrylic paints, clear coats and primers to ideal spray viscosity; reduces orange peel and ensures even flow.
Blending thinner that makes the transition between new clear coat and existing paintwork invisible in spot repairs; melts in overspray edges and eases polishing.
Removes grease, silicone, wax, tar and sanding dust before painting, priming and filling; cuts the risk of silicone craters (fisheyes) for more reliable adhesion.
Health and safety in the paint shop: PPE against isocyanate and solvent exposure, ventilation, fire precautions, waste management and a checklist.
